More good news from the Perrys

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that the next box would always be Austrians to fight the French. The first set is dedicated to the German regiments of the Austrian Army and will cover options for either Fusiliers or Grenadiers in the same box. You will be able to build them either as marching or attacking. The first of the ‘3ups’ is heading for tooling. Alan is also working on a metal range of Austrians and is adding to the French.

Perry plastic update

 Plastic French Revolutionary infantry update.

We have examples of the first two frames of the next plastic set in. The command frame is in tooling at the moment.
The main frame has the torso/heads, legs packs and headgear. The second frame is the arm frame. As you can see the heads are attached to the torsos as this allows queues and long hair to fall over the collars naturally without compromising the tooling.
One of the main things Alan wanted to achieve was a good variation in headgear and leg and footwear as shown in so many pictures of the 1790’s, which also corresponds with the regimental records. To do this the figures are split at the waist. Breeches, with and without gaiters, civilian overalls (ragged and semi-ragged), clogs, shoes in good and bad states of repair as well as bare feet are all covered. There will be additional gaitered legs on the command frame too, if you want a bit more formality to your unit.
On the main frame two torsos have the short tailless civilian carmagnole jacket, which can be painted in the national colours or as civilian clothing. Two other torsos have civilian long tailed coats.
No release date yet.

Exciting news from the Perrys

A new period in plastic coming up!

The next plastic set will be French Revolutionary Infantry!
All the frames for these are in tooling at Renedra at the moment, so this is just a sneak peek to show what is coming up this year. The three examples shown here are marching, but in the box as usual, there’ll be other arms for a more aggressive unit. The way Alan has made the torsos in this set is a little different from before. The torsos and legs are separate to include the large number of options of legwear from neat to ragged, civilian and military. The separate torsos also have the heads attached as this was necessary to allow the queues and longer hair styles to lay right over the collars. So, you’ll end up with a large amount of head/torso as well as leg variants. With the heads attached to the bodies, this also allowed a large variety of separate headgear to be included.

New French in Egypt and French Revolutionary Cavalry

We have three new codes of French Infantry in Egypt in their European uniforms worn in the first year of arriving there. These wore out and were not suitable for the conditions in Egypt to be replaced by new uniforms as shown in the original codes in this range.
We also have six more Chasseurs a Cheval codes for the Revolutionary range. These all come with metal horses for those who prefer metal.

Perry Miniatures news

New! Cavalry for the French Revolutionary Wars
The first cavalry to be released are Chasseurs a Cheval. These are represented in three different uniforms; the waistless dolman called a Caraco, the long-tailed coat and the normal dolman, the later appearing more commonly amongst Chasseurs in the late 1790’s.
This first batch are designed to use the Plastic French Light Cavalry horse frame B66 to allow you to build decent sized regiments at a reasonable cost. No horses, except the officers’ horses are included in the packs. The next batch of six Chasseurs a Cheval codes will come with metal horses.

Perry Miniatures 28mm French Revolution

 New! French Revolution range!

Alan has been busy on many ranges recently but this the first release for a new period (if you don't count the the French in Egypt!). The first batch is of course Line Infantry, march attack. These will be followed by Light Infantry. This is first small start of what will probably be a fairly hefty range! It will probably spill over into the Consulate Period in time.
