In February 1792 Captain James Hewgill - an officer in the Coldstream Guards Regiment - published a series of pictures, representing each regiment of the British army. The images show two figures for each regiment and were by E. Dayes - at that time the official draughtsman of the Duke of York and color tinted by the famous English artist, Joseph Mallard William Turner, who was only 17 years old at the time. It is not known if more than 18 images were made from 1792-1793.
